Mayfly II

Although Little Mayfly has gone to her new home we are not boatless, meet Mayfly II, a Jeanneau 28.1 🙂

Mayfly II all ready for the water

This has been our second full season sailing Mayfly II. We found her in 2014 under brokerage with Boat Shed in Emsworth Harbour. After doing the deal we sailed her back to her new home on The River Orwell stopping off on the way at Eastbourne and Dover.

Since then we have been going through a steady program of maintenance and upgrades, including removing 20 years of anti foul, fitting a new Yanma 2YM auxiliary engine, a new ‘Hyde’ genoa and replacing the spinnaker with a new ‘Hyde’ cruising chute. During this winter lay up we plan to upgrade her 240 volt shore power and replace her traditional incandescent light bulbs with LED’s.
